At first glance, it is rather easy to dismiss synth pop duo Client Liaison as something of a joke. With the teased hair, tight disco pants and excessive glitter, it’s hard to grasp that the disco darlings are a lot more than just visually intriguing.
Client Liaison released their second highly anticipated self-titled EP in December 2014. Among the six tracks, ‘Queen’ is definitely a personal favourite, with it’s colourful, electronic romp complete with bright, pulsating beats - and to top it off, it is SUPER catchy. Their title track “End of the Earth” is also a must if you’re interested in hearing more goodness from these guys.
I was lucky enough to catch Client Liaison play a live gig in Perth a couple of months back, and I was not disappointed. The boys and girls donned retro pastels and filed into the incomparable live music venue ‘The Bakery’ ready to get their groove on. It didn’t take long for the dancefloor to become a sweat pit of dancing hipsters, all trying to edge their way closer to front man (and also professional pelvic thruster) Monte Morgan, who could easily be mistake for the love child of Freddie Mercury and Madonna. Morgan’s voice is absolute perfection - delivered boldly with precision and hints of femininity. He encapsulates everything that a front man should – excellent moves, originality and sex appeal.
If you like what you hear, Client Liaison have just been announced to play at this year’s Listen Out Festival which will be coming to Perth on Sunday 27th September.
