At Grouch & Co Barista School, we offer hands-on training experiences for schools and corporate teams that blend education, creativity, and caffeine-fuelled fun.

  • Our Coffee 101 for Schools program is designed for students aged 12–18, teaching them where coffee comes from, how it’s made, and how to serve it with confidence. We cover everything from espresso basics and workflow to customer service skills. We also give the students tips on approaching employers for that first hospitality job. Starts from $98 per student and includes morning or afternoon tea.

  • For businesses, our Corporate Team Building Workshops turn espresso-making into the ultimate teamwork challenge. Over 2.5 hours, your team will learn the art of crafting the perfect shot, enjoy a morning or afternoon tea, and share plenty of laughs along the way. It’s engaging, energising, and just $120 per person—a team-building experience that’s anything but flat.

Have a bit of fun, learn something new and have a few cheeky bevvies; our coffee cocktail masterclass is an informal group workshop where we teach you our favorite recipes for coffee-based cocktails. 

Whether it is spiking our morning coffee or mixing up something fancy to kick the night off, mixing alcohol and coffee is something our trainers have a LOT of experience in. We run you through easy ways to make your own cocktails at home with or without a coffee machine. 

Learn how to make a banging espresso martini or get a bit fancy with a cold brew Negroni, sample a few of our favourites and make up your own.

This workshop includes prosecco on arrival, light nibbles not to mention making 4 coffee based cocktails. For those a little caffeine sensitive, we have a decaf option also. 

This workshop is designed for bookings of larger groups, and is great for a group of friends, corporate team building or as a hens/ bucks event.  Minimum of 4 people, maximum of 12 people.

Our Barista School is located right next to our Concept store. The address is U2/45 McCoy Street, Myaree. Look for the large Barista school sign on the window.

Yes, all of our Master Classes and Junior Barista classes get a certificate.

Our course is aligned with recognised industry standards and provides a certificate you can show to employers.

We believe that adding a Grouch & Co barista certificate to your resume will increase your chances of being hired.

All our trainers have working with children permits, are tertiary educated and have spent a considerable time in the coffee industry. We pride ourselves on having the best teachers. Our teachers also have experience working with people with disabilities and spicy brains.

Bring yourself, and wear closed-in shoes. No one wants coffee between their toes.

Wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting a little dirty. We provide the coffee supplies, machine access, and training materials.

HOME ESPRESSO MACHINE TUTORIAL - Bring your machine and accessories, including grinder & tamp. We also have a great selection of barista accessories for sale in our Barista school and concept store.

All our classes are one-on-one unless otherwise stated.

If you would like to have friends join you. Just add it to your booking. Our max is 6 people per class. For larger bookings, see our corporate packages.

You’ll learn the full spectrum of barista skills: espresso extraction, grinding & dosing, tamping, milk texturing and microfoam, latte art basics, machine maintenance & cleaning, flavour profiling, and café workflow skills.

We also cover customer service, safety, and hygiene, depending on the course selected.

No prior experience is required. Our barista training is designed for total beginners through to more advanced learners. You’ll start with foundational skills and progressively build your competence and confidence.

All classes (6 or less people) - changes to numbers, times or cancellations, we require 48 hours' notice.

Failure to do so will result in no refund.

We will offer one rescheduled date as long as you provide 48 hours' notice.

If you no-show, we will not provide a refund or reschedule.

Late arrival - if you arrive late, this will run into your class booking time. We hate to disappoint other customers by running late for their booking. We will try our best to squeeze as much into your time as possible.

Group bookings  - Finalisation of numbers and payment to be made and cleared 48 hours prior to the event. After this period, you will be charged previously confirmed numbers.
